Recently I decided to have a quiet night and as a majority of us do turn on the TV, kicked back and threw on Netflix. As I’m scrolling through documentaries one not surprisingly caught my eye, Paradise in Fire. Immediately I knew it was concerning Paradise, California, as it was the deadliest wild land interface fire in California history.
Well, what one would expect to be a quiet night in caused much more self-reflection than I had done in a long time. As I watched I saw something from a different perspective than I had before. I always looked at incidents from my own lens, as a member of the fire service. Looking at these fires from my own perspective they are scary and they do pose threat but I do know what they are why they act the way they act and how they occur.
I never stopped to realize most people don’t. If you are interested in giving this movie a watch it is 40 minutes and well worth your time.
Here is the preview and I highly recommend a viewing.
The only thing that I didn’t like about this documentary was it provided no solutions, there was no answers at the end of the day. This is where I feel compelled to show you this 4-minute video of Falls Creek Colorado.
