After being on the front lines of Canada’s largest natural disaster in Fort McMurray in 2016, Billy realized there was a need for Canadians to make homes that were more resilient to wildfires.
Billy went forward to become one of Canada's only Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialists. He combines his knowledge of construction along with firefighting to create homes that are more resilient to wildfires.
By reducing fuel load around the homes and removing vulnerable components to break the wildland-interface disaster cycle homes become safer and create stronger communities.
